  • Height: 5'5"
  • Starting Weight: 420 pounds
  • Current Weight: 196 pounds
  • (Lost 9 pounds in pre-op efforts, have lost 215 pounds so far post-op)
  • Starting BMI: 69.9
  • Current BMI: 32.6
  • Co-Morbidities: Type II diabetes (the diabetes has been non-existent since right after surgery), mild sleep apnea (the sleep apnea disappeared about 6 weeks after surgery), tendency to get blood clots/pulmonary emboli
  • Other conditions: hypothyroid

I'm hoping this surgery will:
  • Cure my diabetes & sleep apnea
  • Make me less prone to blood clots/pulmonary embloli
  • Increase my life span
  • Increase my quality of life
  • Allow me to do so many things I'd written off such as:
    • Ride amusement park rides
    • Ride in an airplane comfortably
    • Ride horses, bikes, play tennis & other physical stuff
  • More as I think of it - basically it will allow me to have a life
