Country Style Pea Soup
2 cups split peas
1 medium grated onion
8 cups hot water
1 stalk chopped celery with tops
1-2 lbs. ham bones or hocks
1 tbls. salt
1 clove minced garlic
1/8 tsp. pepper
- Combine all ingredients.
- Heat to boiling, reduce heat and simmer for one hour and 15 minutes, or until peas are very soft.
- Put through coarse strainer.
- Reheat and serve.
- 8 servings.
